We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Document Controller to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. Job Summary:
The Document Controller is to support the management of delivery of documentation for the delivery of a programme of work.
The purpose of the job is to be responsible for delivery of documentation using appropriate tools. The Document Controller should communicate effectively with stakeholders responsible for delivering the documentation to ensure that quality is at the necessary standard and that delivery deadlines are met. The role may require the support of development of control and operating policies that could impact the success of the project/programme. This role requires significant customer interface and therefore requirement excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
As part of the Project Management and Project Controls team your responsibilities are to:
- Participate in the development of the documentation and data (3D models) management processes including the writing of procedures and flow charts.
- Provide support for the management of documents using electronic document management systems.
- Check the quality of documents to ensure they meet the Project and Company Standards.
- Ensure the correct distribution of deliverables and project documentation.
- Problem solve documentation process issues.
- Manage document storage and archiving.
- Train engineers in document management processes and tools.
- Provide input to key performance indicators (KPIs) produced by central project controls.
- Maintain an understanding of all current codes of practice
Experience & Skills:
- Documents control systems and processes
- English – written and verbal
- Microsoft Office
- Experience in developing, managing and updating reports and integrating these with project plans.
- Experience in assessing and analysing plan performance and delivery.
- Experience of projects in high hazard industries including Nuclear, Energy, Rail, Oil & Gas and Aviation
- Experience with on-site design support
- Experience in major (£50m+) projects
- Experience in delivery of reports and documents through an Information Management System (IMS).
Person Specification, Qualifications and Profession Accreditations:
The Document Controller should have, or be working towards the following:
- Minimum of HND in Management, Economics, Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other Related Subject
- Chartership status through a recognised international body.
In the absence of these qualifications sufficient relevant experience can be appropriate to determine suitability.
