The role will ensure drawings and associated documentation is developed to the required commercial, technical, and quality standards, delivering on schedule and within budget. The position is to cover multidiscipline works including plant layout, mechanical, structural (steelwork/concrete) and electrical (input to 3D / layouts) drawings.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide input to the Project Manager for progress reporting on drafting deliverables.
- Checking of drawings, diagrams and lists for compliance to standards, specifications, and procedures and against vendor data.
- Checking of drawings for constructability, fabrication, and availability of materials and responsible for the review of 3D Models (Equipment / Piping / Electrical etc)
- Check any detailed shop drawings and material take-offs for compliance against Lycopodium design documentation.
- Liaise with Project Managers and Project Engineers with details within drawings and to resolve highlighted issues from the drawing check process.
- Checking specific design elements as directed by Engineering Manager or project Design Lead.
- Review any Vendor supplied data with respect to the Design.
- Implement Company policy and Project Quality Plans in relation to details within designs, e.g., material, and proprietary component selections and number and style of drawings.
- Manage workloads to ensure targets are met against schedules and budgets.
- Take all reasonable care for your own personal health and safety as well as for that of everyone who may be affected by your actions in the workplace.
- Co-operate with company management to ensure compliance with our legal obligations under the relevant health and safety legislation current in the location that you are performing your duties.
- Supervise and direct Teams of Drafters to upskill and improve quality, in conjunction with the drafting team lead and Engineering Manager.
- Check team members work as required.
- Establish Standards and Procedure to improve Drafting Skills and finished product quality.
- In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, undertake appraisals of the performance and development of design/drafting staff and review possible areas for further training.
- The expertise you'll bring
Qualifications in Engineering
- Graduate of any Engineering degree
- Licensed Engineer
- Minimum 15 years experience as a Designer - background in making procedures, processes, and policies
- Preferably Oil & Gas and/or Pharmaceutical related projects
- With multi-discipline in design (piping, electrical, mechanical, etc.)
- work experience as a checker - plat layout, mechanical, structural, etc.
