Job Title: Industrial Electrician
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and install all components of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install all electrical components of the factory building, including low voltage and 480V/208-120V systems.
- Use a laptop computer to troubleshoot and repair PLC controlled equipment.
- Ability to build and wire a working system from your properly drawn electrical diagram.
- Perform preventive maintenance using written work order procedures and report findings and recommendations in written reports.
- Conduct effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions for all electrically controlled equipment.
- Recommend and order spare parts and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Technical school graduate; State apprentice program completed.
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working as an Electrician (preferably in the Industrial environment).
- Verifiable, formal training in Electrical Theory and Safety.
- Knowledge of PLC Programming, Troubleshooting, and Repair a plus.
- Understanding of industrial motor control, AC/DC, inverter drives, holding circuits, and overload protection.
- Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and wiring basic electrical components such as relays, starters, motors, drives, and switches.
- Must be able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Experience using common electrical tools such as Multi-Meters, Strippers/Crimpers, EMT Benders, and Threaders.
- Must be able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools.
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal guidelines.
- Must be organized, neat, and able to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Rockwell Automation SLC500.
- Preferred: Certificate of completion of an apprenticeship program.
- Preferred: E-2 License.
Environment:
- 100% performed in plant facilities with extensive noise, excessive heat, grease, and machinery running.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
