EHS Manager (Power Plant)

Execute the Company's EHS policies and procedures, including leading personnel and directly maintaining accurate data/documents in the EHS management systems. Programs include, but are not limited to:


a. Title V Air Permit


b. Pollutant Discharge Elimination Standards


c. EPA Storm Water Management


d. Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan


e. Facility Response Plan / Integrated Contingency Plan


f. All applicable OSHA and consensus standards, including NFPA 70E, General Industry (29 CFR 1910 (including Process Safety Management), Construction (29 CFR 1926) and


Recordkeeping (29 CFR 1904)


g. OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)


h. EPA Hazardous Waste Regulations


i. EPA Risk Management Program


j. Part 75 and Part 60 CEMS


• Produce, review and submit required regulatory reporting for the site with applicable oversite.


• Act as the site's coordinator with regulatory agencies, ensuring a positive, collaborative, and responsive relationship is maintained.


• Become fluent in the management of the site's Continuous Emissions Monitor and Data Acquisition and Handling Systems and act as lead interface to the OEM. Generate required reports with oversight, assure data accuracy, work with OEM to make corrections as required and ensure timely submittals of required reports.


• Assist in establishing site goals and objectives and implement policies, programs, and procedures to ensure consistent application of the Company's EHS compliance mission.


• NERC/CIP program oversight


• "Hands on" assistance to operating personnel assuring EHS compliance and assisting the site in physical and process improvements that can reduce compliance risks while minimizing operating expenses.


• Participate in incident and near miss event investigations using root cause analysis methodology. Contribute to corrective action development, implementation and tracking.


• Participate in site regulatory and internal audits as required.


• Keep abreast of new and changing regulatory requirements as they relate to EHS compliance at the site.


• Support off hours, nights and weekends, evolutions, such as outages or emergency response as required.

Education/Experience Required


• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering or related field.


• Specialized regulatory knowledge and experience with Clean Air Act programs and general regulatory knowledge in other disciplines (e.g., CWA, EPCRA, CERCLA, RCRA, RMP). Knowledge and experience with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems and the related quality assurance activities is highly beneficial.


• Strong organization, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the plant and corporate organizations.


• Ability to perform and coordinate multiple tasks and issues simultaneously and perform assigned responsibilities at a high level in a fast-paced, often changing environment.


• Develop leadership skills with an emphasis on driving for results and strategic thinking and planning.


• Effective team player with a record of consensus


building with internal/external parties.
