The Electrical Apprentice supports licensed electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This position involves a combination of hands-on work and classroom-based learning to build foundational skills in electrical work, ensuring all activities comply with electrical codes, safety standards, and company protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist Electricians: Work under the supervision of licensed electricians to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
2. Electrical Installations: Help with the layout and installation of electrical wiring, conduit, and other electrical components in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
3. Safety Practices: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
4. Troubleshooting: Aid in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues, including checking for faulty wiring, outlets, and other electrical components.
5. Reading Blueprints and Schematics: Learn to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and diagrams to understand job requirements and plan work effectively.
6. Material Handling: Assist with inventory management, loading/unloading materials, and setting up equipment and tools on-site.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
8. Learning and Development: Attend scheduled classroom training sessions, complete required coursework, and actively participate in on-the-job training to build knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

• Education: Enrollment in an electrical apprenticeship program or vocational school is a plus.
• Experience: Prior experience in construction, electrical work, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
• Skills:
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety practices.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and high places.
• Certifications: Valid driver's license required; any state-mandated permits for apprentices are beneficial.

Work Environment:

• Physical Demands: Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Schedule: Typically full-time; may require some overtime depending on job demands.

Completing an apprenticeship can lead to becoming a licensed journeyman electrician, opening up opportunities for specialized electrical roles or advancement to a master electrician or foreman position.
