Join us to !Your role at Clorox:Summary: Electrical and Controls Staff Engineer Working in a participative team-based environment, using World Class Operations (WCO) processes and principles, the Staff Engineer participates on teams developing, designing, installing and starting-up new products, product improvements and technology upgrades for larger projects. Plans and leads small to medium sized projects. Provides thorough and practical solutions to complex problems with minimal assistance. Works under general management and completed work is checked for technical soundness and accuracy. Contacts are usually intra-organizational and more frequently with outside suppliers and consultantsIn this role, you will:Capital Project Management, Design, and Construction ManagementTechnical Problem Solving and Engineering ServicesProject Technical Feasibility EvaluationsEngineering Administrative DutiesSupport process improvement initiativesParticipate in technical seminars for departmental or cross functional training in order to stay up to date on current trends, changes, and technological advancementsTrains and coaches EIC technicians on siteDevelop personal skills on new engineering techniques, etc.Advocate for engineering innovation within functional departmentDeliver project safety performance objectivesSupport project objectives during planning and executionSupport cost savings initiatives and project spending objectivesProvides technical expertise and insight to the team on business and engineering needs and proposalsSupport and drive regulatory compliance within project teamsEIC Lead on projects in accordance with Clorox Project Management Standards to achieve required results, timing, and budgetary targetsWhat we look for:10 years of engineering instrumentation and controls experience5 year experience with capital projects and capital budget process5 year of experience in batch, continuous, and discrete manufacturing a plusPosition will require the candidate to be in manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations etc.Position is an on call position and the candidate must be available for after hour and weekend calls Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this positionEngineering Degree (BSEE)Working knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, NFPA a plusWorking knowledge of industrial power and lighting applications; power distribution; and MCC, conduit and wiring a plusTechnical skills related to electrical/instrumentation and controlsWorking knowledge of Allen Bradley hardware and softwareAbility to develop, read and interpret electrical drawingsEngineering or operations experience with consumer-packaged goods packaging equipment and systemsMotivation & commitment to lead and direct others to exceptional resultsAnalytical & decision-making skills that integrate technical and business factorsEffective communication skills in formal and informal settings using both written and verbal communication skills.Planning and organizing skills to manage project priorities and coordinate other function activities and cross functional teamsAdaptation & flexibility skills to recognize the need for change and to initiate the change processWe seek out and celebrate diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we know you don’t need a degree to succeed.
