Job Title: Electrical Apprentice - Electrical Construction Projects

Work Schedule may fluctuate based on the project, start time may vary between 7am to 8am and end between 3:30pm – 4pm
This person will be working outdoors most of the day on a construction site.
Job Description:
Georgia Green Energy Services (GGES) is currently seeking a dedicated Electrical Apprentice to fill Quality Assurance duties. The Quality Electrical Apprentice plays a crucial role in ensuring that our electrical construction projects meet and exceed quality standards and specifications. They assist the Quality Control (QA/QC) team in inspections and technical testing activities. The Electrical Apprentice measures, monitors, and improves the organization’s quality compliance with external regulatory requirements and quality policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Standards Adherence:
- Assist in analyzing quality assessment reports to identify gaps and improvements.
- Assist in monitoring transactions against quality criteria covering in-process quality oversight.
- Assist in quality monitoring data management to compile and track performance.
2. Material and Equipment Inspection:
- Assist with inspections on all incoming equipment and materials to confirm they are received without damage and in compliance with project requirements.
- Ensures electrical wiring height, width, and placement accuracy according to electrical blue prints.
5. Anchorage and Safety Verification:
- Verify that all electrical components and equipment are securely anchored in place using appropriate anchorage devices.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Assist with maintaining comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and quality control activities.
- Assist with implementing an organized documentation management system to ensure easy retrieval of quality-related records and reports when needed.
7. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with Quality Assurance Engineers and project managers to ensure the effective implementation of quality assurance processes.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships with team members, subcontractors, and customers.
- Communicate regularly with field personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to address quality-related concerns and promote a culture of quality excellence.
8. Problem Solving:
- Assist with identifying potential quality issues or deviations from project requirements and develop proactive solutions to address them.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve any quality-related challenges that may arise during construction.
- Participate in project debriefings and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement in quality assurance processes.
9. Training and Guidance:
- Assist in organizing training sessions or workshops to enhance the team's quality awareness and skills.
10. Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to electrical construction and quality assurance.
- Assists with ensuring that the project remains compliant with all applicable codes and regulations throughout the construction process.
- Assists with championing a strong safety culture by identifying safety hazards, reporting incidents, and encouraging safe work practices among team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Construction, Electrical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field or at least 2 years’ experience in the field of quality assurance within the construction or electrical industry.
- Proven experience in quality assurance/quality control in construction or electrical projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and other relevant project management and engineering software.
- Certifications as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Construction Quality Manager (CCQM), Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP), and Electrical Code Certification (NEC) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Clean MVR
- Must be able to work outside on construction site
- Must be able to pass Drug Screen and Background Check
Physical Requirements
Mobility: Quality Assurance Technicians/Leads may need to move around construction sites, including climbing ladders, walking on uneven terrain, and navigating through potentially crowded or confined spaces. You must have the physical agility to access different areas of the site.
Stamina: Construction projects can be physically demanding, requiring individuals to be on their feet for extended periods. They should have the stamina to work full days in sometimes challenging environmental conditions.
Lifting and Carrying: Technicians/Leads may need to lift and carry equipment, tools, or inspection devices. The ability to lift and move objects of varying weights is important.
Manual Dexterity: Precise inspection tasks and the use of hand tools may require good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Vision and Hearing: Clear vision is essential for inspecting construction work and reading documents, blueprints, and technical drawings. Good hearing is important for communication and safety awareness on construction sites.
Environmental Tolerance: Construction sites can be exposed to various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, and dust. Technicians/leads should be able to work comfortably in different environmental conditions.
Climbing: Depending on the project, there may be a need to climb structures or equipment. Candidates should be comfortable with such activities if required.
Bending and Kneeling: Inspecting work often involves bending, kneeling, and crouching to access specific areas and examine construction details.
Travel Requirements:
The position requires some travel.
