Electrical and Automation Support Engineer
Manchester
Monday to Friday: 8AM – 4PM
Due to internal development and progression, we’re recruiting an Electrical and Automation Support Engineer to join our Manchester Blow Moulding Team.
The successful candidate will deliver cost effective maintenance activities to site assets in line with annual maintenance plan and situation demands. You will actively seek and implement new improvement methods to increase reliability and support Maintenance Excellence road-map implementation, as well as develop systems and people to improve site Automation infrastructure and performance.
Electrical & Automation Support Engineer key responsibilities will include:
Be proactive and responsive in attending breakdowns to both plant and equipment in such a manner which meets the day-to-day needs of the production department – First point of contact
Ensure both group and individual objectives are positively progressed in line with the Muller Maintenance Strategy, and positively contribute to site initiatives as requested
Work with the factory planned maintenance system to both develop and complete planned maintenance routines whilst constantly monitoring the effectiveness of the system
Raise purchase order requisitions for spare parts as required, and liaise with the Engineering Services to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained and complying with budgetary constraints and administrative systems
Provide expertise in Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatic control systems ensuring efficient plant operation
Maintenance tasks will also be undertaken as time and production allow
Ensure that the right product is produced at the right time at the desired quality
Have the flexibility to work extended hours and provide out of hours support to ensure production and supply lines are running normally
Produce detailed technical documentation for purchasing, training and automation policies
Manage small projects as per the site plan
Administer and archive automation software to ensure successful replacement of all automation systems
Maintain all automation records and documentation
Develop robust and cost effective planned maintenance regime for automation equipment
Support the site excellence roadmaps for Quality/H&S/Environmental/Engineering/ Autonomous Maintenance
What we’re looking for from our next Electrical & Automation Support Engineer:
Educated in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
Ability to fault find within electrical panels and breakdowns
Ability to communication technical information to non-technical audiences.
Proficient with Microsoft products.
Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
PLC programming knowledge in Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley, Scada systems
Understanding of industrial Networking and developing INTOUCH applications
Completion of a multi skilled training program
Proven ability to actively apply skills in a safe and effective manner
