The Electrical/Controls Engineer supports all aspects of the s manufacturing facilities by providing electrical and controls engineering expertise to various engineering projects as assigned. This position also provides necessary support in coordinating proper maintenance of process equipment and facilities. The Electrical/Controls Engineer assists in identifying, analyzing, and controlling occupational risks and hazards, requiring the application of professional engineering knowledge, skill, and abilities in a team environment. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to maintain the facility and help optimize production process equipment in support of safety, quality, service, and profit impact activities, as well as support and maintain direct plant energy-related activities.
  • Provide technical support to plant personnel and maintain engineering documentation, CAD, and other drawing files that support project work and engineering.
  • Design and programming for automated systems, including the use of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
  • Provides input into planning and scheduling of projects and preparing capital expenditures.
  • Consult suppliers on sourcing, specifying, and operating instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Hardware and Software integration will be refined on automated equipment used in manufacturing environments for capital equipment valued at over $1M.
  • Ability to simultaneously execute multiple complex projects.
  • Performs root cause analysis as well as implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop PMs that drive improved reliability.
  • Interacts with Managers and Supervisors at plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement projects.
  • Collaborates with other engineering team members to coordinate any proposed changes using the change management system.
  • Supports Autonomous Maintenance by training operators and ensuring that equipment basic conditions are maintained.
  • Plan maintenance activities in conjunction with the assigned Maintenance Planner.

Required Experience:

  • BS Degree (Required); MS Degree (Preferred).
  • Electrical engineering: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Controls Engineering: 1+ year(s) (Preferred)
  • Work authorization (Required)
  • Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Lean manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)
