Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Manchester

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Electrical Design Engineer to join our Manchester team. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical or battery systems and experience in executing electrical engineering tasks, particularly on power projects connected directly to the high voltage electricity network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience of G99 and good understanding of requirements.
• Cable sizing and selection.
• BOM Management: Ability to manage Bill of Materials (BOM) efficiently.
• AutoCAD: Advanced user of AutoCAD
• Understanding of HV and EHV networks and equipment.
• Understanding BS EN 61439.
• Circuit Debugging: Experience in debugging and analysing circuits using test equipment.
• Testing: Design and run suitable tests for hardware validation and performance.
• Detailed understanding of BS7671 requirements.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of gas insulated switchgear.
• Worked on HV and EHV projects.
• Worked on projects with embedded protection.
• Experience with step7/TIA portal.
• Understanding of BS EN ISO 13849 or IEC61508.
• Fire system design.
