Electrical Design Engineer

Location:                Stockport Area



Salary:                      £45-60k + Overtime



Are you an Electrical Designer Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? We're on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our growing team. Be part of a dynamic group of engineers providing cutting-edge solutions for various manufacturing industries designing, manufacturing, and installing complex automated systems using the latest robotics, servo, PLC, and vision systems.



Role Overview:



You will collaborate with mechanical and control design engineers to design bespoke automation machinery. Complete technical documentation, including functional design specifications, bill of materials, and electrical drawings. You will also play a key role in departmental and company continuous improvements.



.Key Responsibilities:



Determine customer/process requirements



Produce customer sign off and technical documentation such as functional design specifications and system manuals.



Produce accurate, functional and cost-effective electrical system designs using EPLAN software.



Produce accurate 2D layout drawings for electrical panel build and system IO layout to convey appropriate installation information.



Liaise with suppliers to determine the suitable component selection, to fit function, cost, and schedule.



Produce accurate bills of materials, suitable for component procurement, spare parts lists, and installation records.



Support the machine commissioning activities in collaboration with the commissioning team to help ensure a successful FAT & SAT.



Provide occasional site support for customer meetings, projects scoping and SAT activities.



Key Skills:



Extensive experience with electrical design software. Preferably EPLAN.



Knowledge of Sistema.



Extensive experience with hand calculations for drive systems, electrical loadings and current ratings etc.



Experience in bespoke/special purpose machine building and design.



Experience with robotics and automation.



Experience with vision and sensing systems.



Understanding of UKCA/CE Technical file creation and risk assessments.



Qualifications/Experience:



Degree/equivalent or higher in Electrical Engineering



Around 4 years or more industry experience.
