Keystone is in search of an Electrical Designer with at least 3 years of experience to join our Seaford, DE team.
Seaford is located in lower Delaware. Tax free shopping, outlets, restaurants, nightlife, and sunny beach days can't get any closer!
As an Electrical Designer, you will develop electrical load calculations using client information for electrical equipment sizing, product data sheets, Electrical Code tables, and other resources. You will be creating and modifying site plans, floor plans, single line diagrams, interconnection diagrams, and schedule drawings utilizing AutoCAD. Reviewing client submittals and product data sheets to determine compliance in the drawings and specifications, Coordination with CAD Designers and other disciplines is a daily occurrence.
You will also be responsible for determining conduit and wiring sizing using NEC tables, selecting and specifying motor-control centers, switchboards, panelboards and transformers. Additionally, you will be editing and developing CSI type specifications using Master specifications and the Styles formatting tools for project manuals, developing electrical equipment and lighting layouts for electrical, control, chemical, and process rooms.
Developing grounding plans as well as selecting surge protective devices as well as creating, modifying and entering data into schedules such as panelboard, lighting fixture, and generator schedules.
An Associate's degree or equivalent from a college or technical school is required for this position, as well as design experience using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. Experience in Revit is a plus.
We would also look for a solid understanding of Medium (1K+) and Low Voltage (480/277 Volt (Wye), 240/120 Volt (Delta or Open Delta), 208/120 Volt (Wye), 120/240 Volt, and 24 Volt), and of instrumentation such as flow meters, analyzers, and pressure transmitters. Our Designers need to read and understand engineering and construction drawings, and standard specifications to include architectural, process, mechanical and electrical engineering. Finally, a working knowledge of Square D or Eaton electrical distribution equipment is necessary.
Additional skills we find to be beneficial are in the areas of communication, problem-solving, and technical writing - plus, the ability to work with strict and competing deadlines on an ongoing basis.
Our Designers occasionally travel to client sites.
