Electrical Drafter
Description of Work:
Immediate full-time position for Electrical Drafters who are proficient with AutoCAD. Candidates will be members of the engineering design/drafting team. Can be based out of Middletown, RI or New London, CT offices.
Responsibilities: Support U.S Navy system designs and development including performance of the following tasks:
- Develop 2D Cabling Diagrams in accordance with Military Specifications.
- Develop Wiring Tables, Elementary Wiring Diagrams, Lists of Material (LOM).
- Interpret Government Furnished Information (GFI) to meet design requirements.
- Update and maintain electrical drawing packages using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
- Ensure drawings follow standards and practices.
- Conduct ship checks on SSN 688/688I Class, SEAWOLF Class, VIRGINIA Class and OHIO Class (SSBN/SSGN) Class submarines.
- Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System.
Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years professional experience.
- Ability to review engineering drawings and understand required changes.
- Ability to work closely with Navy military and civilian personnel.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word .
- Technical school or bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Knowledge of existing submarine systems, Military Specifications, and previous defense industry is a plus.
