Our Utilimaster team is seeking an Electrical Engineer at our Fleet Vehicles & Services manufacturing facility in Bristol, IN, as we continue to move ahead of the competition when delivering vehicles and services that require precision, planning, and the perfect vehicle.
Utilimaster Fleet Vehicles & Services Product Line
In your role as Electrical Engineer, you will be expected to embrace the Project Design function and provide electrical engineering solutions and wiring harness designs that interface with the chassis that our vehicles our built on. In addition, you will be accountable for managing the design projects and will often collaborate with R&D to vet out the solutions to achieve a viable electrical solution.

What Youll Be Doing
- Utilizing your electrical engineering expertise to produce schematic drawings, harness drawings, design manual content, and operation and troubleshooting guides
- Coordinating design requirements, application reviews, and engineering releases with suppliers
- Developing test requirements and coordinating component and system testing
- Performing system testing, providing analysis test results, and processing engineering change requests
- Assisting your teammates on electrical (DC and AC) and mechanical aspects of the vehicle
- Developing engineering bills of materials that are complete, accurate, and on-time.
- Identifying and implementing design improvement projects to reduce cost and improve performance
- Completing complex circuit analysis for responsible systems
- Providing technical support for vehicle electrical systems
- Represent company at industry and technical forums
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related discipline
- Strong troubleshooting and system testing skills
- Willingness to travel to our Kansas City and/or Michigan facilities on a quarterly basis
What Makes You Stand Out
- 3+ years of electrical engineering experience
- CAD expertise with emphasis on 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks
- Familiarity with heavy duty truck and motor vehicle electrical systems
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS)
