Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities: No – Individual Contributor
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Electrical engineer must have a strong understanding of electrical manufacturing processes.
- Must be able to read, write and analyze electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Electrical engineer must have a broad knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes and handbook formulas along with a working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Motor Control, and Power distribution.
- Electrical engineer must have the capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspective and explore creative solutions.
- Must be able to devise testing methods and properties to confirm the functionality of electrical components and systems.
- Determines proper type, size of materials and equipment for the job, including power requirements.
- Performs electrical work requiring high degree of trade skill to install, test, inspect, adjust, repair and wire all plant equipment and circuits to required voltages and tolerances.
- Able to locate, diagnose and remedy troubles quickly to avoid shutdowns and able to adjust all plant equipment to proper operating characteristics.
- Fabricates material to be used for electrical equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills or Abilities:
- Ability to work individually or collaboratively on a team.
- Utilize precision devices such as voltmeters or other measuring instruments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Possesses time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires work such as sitting at a desk and computer for periods of time, standing or walking up to 8 hours at a time on hard surfaces.
- Must be able to traverse manufacturing plant and warehouse to access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and/or reaching.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with some exposure to environmental factors such as loud noises, odors, variances in temperature or weather and other factors.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times without assistance, up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Education and Experience:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electrical Engineering or an alike field.
- 5-10 years industrial electrical and/or mechanical experience.
