Job Description
Are you an Electrical Engineer looking to start a career within a great company with lots of future prospects within major Energy, Oil & Gas, Refinery or Petrochemical sectors? \n \n Do you want a flexible working life with every other Friday off? \n\n This new permanent role is based in Milton Keynes with a £35,000 - £50,000 per annum salary.\n\n Your duties and responsibilities will be \nYou will report to the Electrical Discipline Lead and will have responsibility for the following:\n\nAssist on preparation and check engineering procedures, specifications and standards.\nSupport preparation of:\nDiscipline basis of design and specifications.\nData sheets.\nRequisitions.\nTechnical bid evaluations.\nDetailed discipline drawings.\nCheck and review vendor proposals, documentation and drawings.\nSupport the Lead Electrical Engineer on Projects and Proposals.\nParticipate in vendor meetings.\nProvide input to proposals. Provide input to man-hour and material cost estimates.\nProvide Input to Construction Sub-Contract, evaluate bids and supervision of contractor.\nSupport other engineering activities specific to the Electrical design, such as: \nPower system studies.\nSingle Line Diagrams.\nLoad Summaries.\nSubstation Layout Drawings.\nMaterial Take Offs and Priced Bill of Materials.\nTravel in the UK and overseas, for meetings, equipment testing and site technical support for projects.You will have the following qualifications & experience\nA degree level engineering qualification.\nExperience working with major electrical equipment items, including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, diesel generators, cabling and hazardous area equipment.\nBasic understanding of hazardous area requirements, IEC 60079 and IP Part 15. Selection of electrical equipment for hazardous areas.\nBasic knowledge of short circuit analysis and load flow studies.\nBasic understanding of design requirements for equipment layouts, earthing, lighting, cabling and electric heat tracing.\nBasic understanding of design distribution network for Ethylene Plants and similar industrial applications.\nComputer literate with a willingness to learn how to use software related to electrical design activities.\nAble to review, interpret and work in accordance with Client/Company standards and procedures.\nSelf-motivated person keen to learn and work as part of a team with good communication skills.The setting for the role \nRisks and Hazards are in line with working in an office.
These can include display screen equipment, stress, manual handling, slips, trips and falls, fire and emergency, work equipment and electrical safety and temperature.
