We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for solar energy projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all regulatory standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design and engineering efforts for utility-scale and commercial solar projects.
- Prepare electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, and system layouts for solar power plants.
- Design and specify electrical components such as inverters, switchgear, transformers, and other critical equipment for solar installations.
- Oversee and manage the electrical system integration, including interconnection with the grid.
- Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
- Ensure compliance with local, , and international electrical codes and safety standards.
- Lead technical due diligence, design review, and risk assessment processes for new projects.
- Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of electrical equipment and materials.
- Provide support during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians in electrical design and system troubleshooting.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution.
- Assist in project proposals, including developing electrical engineering scopes of work, cost estimates, and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field). A Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is .
- 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 4 years of experience in the solar industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Experience with solar energy technologies and systems, including inverters, batteries, and grid integration.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design and troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
Skills:
- Experience in electrical system design for large-scale utility solar power plants.
- Knowledge of energy storage and microgrid integration.
- Fluency in project management tools and methodologies.
