Electrical Engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC
Salary range: Base salary of $85K-$100K DOE
plus, performance-based/individual evaluation-linked bonuses.
Job Description
They are seeking an Electrical Engineer responsible for designing and deploying intricate industrial electrical systems, including primary power distribution systems, secondary wiring systems for machinery/equipment, and communication wiring systems for industrial and automotive parts manufacturing plants. The role involves overseeing electrical contracting or serving as an electrical superintendent. Additionally, you will be involved in maintaining and repairing electrical facilities, equipment, and utility systems.
Ideal candidates will possess substantial experience as an electrical engineer and/or electrical superintendent.
Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial, commercial, or domestic purposes.
- Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
- Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
- Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
- Establishing construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support or testing activities.
- Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
- Inspecting and Evaluating maintenance and /or modification method and /or procedure of electrical system and electrical equipment.
- Preparing specifications and schematic drawings for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
- Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation as electrical contractor.
- Creating BOM, BOQ and RFQ
- Preparing quotation and negotiation with customers.
- Finding/selecting electrical sub-contractors, sub-engineering firms and electrical material/equipment suppliers by bidding, if necessary.
- Supervising or training project team members of sub-contractors and/or sub-engineering firms.
- Developing and maintaining project schedules.
- Coordinating and managing electrical maintenance and modification works.
- Working with a variety of technicians.
Required Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree of Science in Electrical Engineer
- 5 ~10 years of experience as an electrical engineer in industrial manufacturing plants.
- Experience in managing all phases of electrical project development and execution.
- Experience in creating BOM, BOQ and RFQ.
- Experience in using or a desire to learn required software.
- Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering.
- Proficient in design and calculation software.
- Good customer service skills. Maintain positive, cooperative, and professional attitude while focusing on serving internal customers. Understands customer needs and expectations.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and associated engineering documentation.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (electrical metering equipment, multi-meters, calipers, and gauge pins, etc.).
- Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
- Adheres to all company and departmental safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment when necessary.
- If necessary, required to work overtime, weekends and/or varying hours.
- If necessary, required to travel throughout the customer's facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
- If necessary, required to travel and work in the customer's facility in other states.
- Experience in Japanese industrial projects are . But not required.
- Knowledge/understanding of Japanese business culture or is . But not required.
