Position Summary
The individual with this position will have to split their time in-between the engineering team objectives, field service, field service reports and shop engineering support. This engineering position will entail a dual role with hands-on-responsibilities along with other engineering tasks. It is expected that the individual will need training as part of on-boarding process and Sulzer will accommodate.
Job Requirements –
- 0 – 4 years’ experience in the following field of electrical engineering.
- Electric motor, generators repairs and design.
- Transformer repair and design
- Switch gear design and diagnostics
- Power Semiconductors
- Proficient in basic power theory,
- Knowhow in the following topics
- Operations of induction motors
- Operations of synchronous motors
- Transformer principle
- Operation of semiconductors.
- Winding Insulation Tests
Role
- The electrical engineer will be responsible to perform on-site field service preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on electromechanical equipment.
- They will also be responsible to provide the reports for the job performed to the customer in a timely manner.
- Prioritize internal safety initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with shop projects which are electromechanical in nature.
- This role will require the individual to be hands-on and involved in the day-to day operations.
- Based on proficiency, certain aspects of project management may also be assigned.

- The individual must be self-motivated and must be prepared for on-the-job training.
- The individual must take responsibility of their assigned task and finish it in a timely manner.
- During on-the-job training the individual is expected to train in inter-disciplinary tasks.
