Electrical Engineer I or II (Telecommunications)

McCall-Thomas Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time Telecommunications Engineer I or II. This role will require onsite work in our Orangeburg, SC office.

*Note this position does require a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.

The McCall-Thomas Telecommunications Engineer I or II job responsibilities include:

• Fiber Network Design
• Fiber Route/Equipment Planning
• Construction/Project Management
• Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Contract Management
• Conference travel and client relations
• FTTP GPON/XGS-PON/NG-PON2 and active ethernet technologies
• Adtran and Calix access equipment
• Fiber testing, specifications and analysis
• OSP, Engineering, and Construction of Fiber Optic Systems supplying residential and broadband services
• RUS specifications and contracts for rural telecommunications or rural electric cooperatives

Required for this role:

• Eligibility to work in the US with no sponsorship requirements (required)
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college engineering program (required)
• Ability to give technical presentations on various telecommunications subjects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams

:

• experience in FTTH Technology/Design
• PE license or on track to obtain it in the near future
• experience with FTTH design, staking, construction, inspection, contracts
• Understanding of consulting engineering industry
• Proficiency in Engineering and GIS systems
