Electrical Engineer II

With products in more than 150,000 civil and military aircraft around the world, Astronautics continues to be a trusted partner that delivers innovative avionics solutions that withstand the toughest environments.We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop and support Primary Flight, Engine, and Multifunction displays as well as in-flight computing devices including Network Servers, Mission and Display Processing, Data Concentrator Units, and Flight Controls. The Electrical Design Engineer II will engage in all phases of product development including requirements gathering and verification, detailed design and analysis, peer technical reviews, compliance to industry and company design standards, and compliance to program cost and schedule targets. Position Responsibilities:Work with cross-functional teams to take a design from specification through architecture design, development, test, and qualification.Review and develop technical specifications for both internal and external customers.Design electronic circuits and assemblies for specification compliance.Verify that designs meet or exceed all requirements and specifications.Analyze analog, digital, and power circuit designs including micro-processors/controllers, DSP’s, FPGA’s, sensor interfaces, linear and switching power supplies.Perform detailed technical analysis and create test and analysis reports.Generate design documentation to ensure the delivery of a quality finished product such as requirements documents, functional block diagrams, verification and validation test plans and results, qualification test plans and reports, and product user and maintenance manuals.Facilitate design reviews with key stakeholders including Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Manufacturing.Create technical solutions through root cause analysis for production, reliability, and/or performance issues. Required Qualifications:BS in Electrical Engineering required.2+ years of electrical design experience is required.Must display excellent leadership, teamwork, and problem solving skills.Must be capable of working independently in a lab environment.Strong verbal and written skills required.Must be permanently eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. Desired Qualifications:Experience with circuit simulation tools such as TopSPICE and LTspice is preferred.Knowledge of schematic entry and board layout tools such as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and Mentor Graphics PADS is preferred.Experience with high reliability electronics design and support is preferred.Experience in the avionics industry is preferred.Required SkillsRequired Experience
