Job Overview:
Nikkiso Cosmodyne seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide design and manage all aspects of electrical systems associated with process equipment related to the industrial gas and natural gas processing industries. Experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment with a focus on outsourced fabrication is highly valued. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
The candidate requires experience with power distribution and protection circuits, PLC controls, instrumentation, motor specification (5-10,000 kW) and motor controls (starters, VFD, Protection relays, etc.). NEC and IEC code work is required, and the candidate should have experience with the application of those code standards.
This position requires an individual to take responsible charge of the design and application of codes for all electrical systems provided by the Nikkiso Cosmodyne. The successful candidate will review customer specifications, produce electrical design, panel drawings, Bills of Material, single line diagrams, schematics, and write vendor specifications in a timely manner to meet production schedules. The individual will also be the key interface contact to customers for specification of all customer site electrical requirements for the successful installation and operation of Nikkiso Cosmodyne products.
Duties include supervision and assistance in the checkout and testing of electrical systems at our manufacturing site, our vendor’s sites, or customer’s site.
Some local and long distant travel will be required.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of BS Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience.
Specific experience with Induction Electrical motors for rotating machinery (compressors, turbines, expanders, fans, pumps)
Engineering design codes knowledge and use desired as follows:
Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70
NFPA Electrical Area Hazard classification standards.
NEMA standards (motors, circuit protection, etc.)
IEC European electrical standards, CSA Canadian Standards, & UL requirements
Minimum Computer skills:
2D and 3D CAD experience desirable
Most recent versions of Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical/Mechanical
Bill of Materials management systems (ERP)

Annual Salary: $78,377 to $120,000
