On behalf of a client, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic team within an brand new state of the art aluminum processing plant. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems and components for our projects and ongoing operations, focusing on high voltage and current power supply systems to the direct current plasma arc furnace. Will relocate!
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain control systems that govern various aspects of the smelting processes, such as temperature, pressure, flow, and chemical composition.
- Oversee the electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and components, including motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
- Implement electrical systems that prioritize safety for personnel and equipment.
- Optimize, and manage electrical power distribution networks within the smelting facility.
- Specify, install, and calibrate instrumentation devices for monitoring process parameters.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, process, and plant metallurgists, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall smelting operations.
- Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects related to electrical system upgrades, expansions, or modifications. Manage internal project timelines, and resources effectively.
- Review and familiarize with detailed electrical project schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation. Maintain accurate records of modifications, repairs, and upgrades to the electrical infrastructure
- Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering, automation technologies, and industrial control systems. Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to seamlessly integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshoot issues in electrical designs.
- Evaluate design, manufacturing, and testing techniques for power equipment at a plant site.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license; Pennsylvania license is a plus.
- Proven experience in electrical system design, development, fault-finding, and testing.
- Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools.
- Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring the highest quality work.
