Job DescriptionMechanical TechnicianMy client, a large manufacturing organization, who is part of a global multi-billion-euro conglomerate, seeks to hire an Mechanical/Electrical Technician for their manufacturing plant.This is a permanent role, based on site in south co. Galway, and will suit someone with an Irish TradeWorking Hours:3 shift cycle – bonus rates per shiftWeek 1 Days (7am-3pm)Week 2 Evenings (3pm-11pm)Week 3 Nights (11-7am)RESPONSIBILITIES:• Electrical/Mechanical Technician is responsible for the completion of assigned Preventative Maintenance work.• Lead role in meeting plant electrical/mechanical efficiency KPIs.• Key part of the engineering team in providing a top-class service to the running of the plant.• Take into consideration the overall Engineering / Maintenance budget when carrying out jobs.• Responsible for the completion of assigned maintenance jobs for the shift.• Play a leading role in the delivery of electrical/mechanical efficiency targets for the site.• Proactive in determining risks and opportunities with regard to breakdowns, root cause analysis, etc• Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and regulations.• Provide a keen focus on the overall site requirements from the perspective of production, NPD, trials, etc• Carry out equipment modifications where necessary. Be proactive in bringing forward ideas as to what could be done to improve efficiencies and drive performance.• Will be required to provide line cover on occasion during the production run.• Focus on continuous improvement initiatives.• Assist in training any new members of the Engineering / Maintenance team or upskilling current members.• Work as part of project teams where required.REQUIREMENTS:• The successful candidate must have a relevant Trade qualification and/or a relevant Engineering Degree.• At least 2 years maintenance experience.• Strong overall knowledge of the Industrial machinery.• Knowledgeable in carrying out PM tasks as outlined in the maintenance program.• Be able to demonstrate ‘hands-on’ experience of dealing with manufacturing equipment from a maintenance perspective.• Good knowledge of the production process.• Strong technical skills• Need to be self motivated and work on own initiative• Ability to proactively identify potential problems identifies solutions, evaluate these and implement in a timely manner.• Ability to work as part of a team• Good interpersonal skills• Proficient communicator• Good overall PC skillsIf interested, please forward your most updated CV to
