Electrical lead engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Lead Engineer to oversee and manage the electrical systems for a hyperscale data centre project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical power infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Engineering:
• Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems, including high-voltage distribution, backup power systems, and grounding.
• Review and approve technical specifications and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with local codes and industry standards.
• Project Management:
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage project timelines and budgets.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Operational Support:
• Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Optimize energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Team Leadership:
• Mentor and guide a team of electrical engineers and technicians.
• Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  
  Qualifications and Experience:
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a data centre environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of power distribution, UPS systems, and emergency backup systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, NFPA, and IEC.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
