Electrical - Mechanical Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our team, responsible for maintaining the critical infrastructure within our Data Centre estate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to respond to emergency situations, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot complex issues.



Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Response: React swiftly and effectively to emergency situations related to building services within the Data Centre estate to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Routine Maintenance: Plan, perform, and document routine maintenance tasks for a variety of complex systems, including:



* LV switchgear and distribution



* Diesel generators



* Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)



* High volume air conditioning and humidity controls



* Chilled water systems with hybrid cooling towers



* Pumps and filters (water and fuel)



* Fire detection and suppression systems



* Heating and cooling systems



* Building Management Systems (BMS)

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Conduct local PPM activities according to the agreed schedule. Propose and develop changes to the schedule and maintenance activities to ensure they remain suitable for the facility’s needs.

Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Provide critical infrastructure failure troubleshooting and diagnosis to ensure the continued operation of services across the West Cambridge Data Centre and other server room facilities. This includes making key decisions to resolve issues outside of normal operational hours.



Qualifications and Experience:



* Proven experience in electro-mechanical engineering, specifically within a Data Centre or similar environment.



* Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including the maintenance of critical infrastructure.



* Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and troubleshoot complex technical issues.



* Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and other facility management technologies



Hours and Working Pattern The hours of work for the position are 36.5 hours per week.

Annual leave Full time employees are entitled to annual paid leave of 36 days inclusive of public holidays
