Job Title: Electrical/Mechanical Technician

Shift: 2nd shift available

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical/Mechanical Technician I to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for working with electrical assemblies, mechanical components, and systems, including wiring PC boards, controls, switches, and more. You’ll follow detailed schematics, layout diagrams, and written specifications to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in both electrical and mechanical assembly work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wire utility circuits, including exit lights, GFCIs, lighting fixtures, receptacles, and switches.
  • Layout, bend, and install EMT and rigid conduit in compliance with NEC code.
  • Identify and terminate wires and cables in panels, circuits, and electrical components like switchgear, transformers, and relays.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions for complex systems and components.
  • Assemble mechanical systems and components, ensuring proper fit and function within the design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions, including mechanical assemblies, motors, and other devices, making repairs and updates as needed.
  • Adhere to NEC, MSHA, and other relevant codes for electrical installations, grounding, and bonding.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, multimeters, Hi-pot equipment, and occasionally use overhead cranes, forklifts, and hoists.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, strictly following all safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • 0 to 2,000 hours of hands-on electrical and mechanical experience, including assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Must pass the Electrical Technician 1 Competency Test with a minimum score of 75%.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting both electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, NEC code, and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Ability to assemble mechanical components and systems per design specifications.
  • Valid OSHA forklift and Overhead Crane certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a demanding environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work a standard 40-hour workweek with potential for additional hours.
  • Regular exposure to electrical hazards and mechanical equipment.
  • Must be capable of heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods on concrete floors.
