Aegis is partnered with a global manufacturer seeking a Project Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design engineering to manage customer projects and oversee the electrical design of custom-built equipment. This role requires a hands-on engineer who can lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring all designs meet customer specifications, industry standards, and project deadlines.

Direct-hire

Hybrid structure: Remote with 20% travel to the local office and customer sites

Compensation: Base salary up to $100k (depending on experience) and a full comprehensive benefits package

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing projects and performing electrical design work to support the development and delivery of custom equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time and within-budget completion. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating design reviews and addressing technical concerns.
  • Electrical Design: Develop detailed electrical designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts, for control systems, panels, and related equipment. Utilize industry-standard tools and software to create high-quality, accurate designs.
  • Specifications and Standards: Interpret customer requirements and contract documents to ensure designs comply with specifications, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Documentation and Submittals: Prepare and submit detailed design packages, including bills of materials, submittals, and test procedures, for customer review and approval. Respond to and address review comments promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with drafting teams, manufacturing, and field personnel to ensure smooth project execution. Provide clear instructions and technical guidance to ensure alignment with design requirements.
  • Site Support: Conduct site visits to gather information, assess existing conditions, and support system installations or testing activities.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors to select components and ensure timely procurement. Evaluate options to balance quality, performance, and cost.
  • Quality Assurance: Supervise the creation of “as-built” documentation, ensuring all updates reflect field conditions accurately. Review and approve final design documentation for submission to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on control systems or industrial equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, including UL and NEC, for electrical equipment and systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, with occasional light lifting of office materials.
