Electrical Supervisor
Job Purpose & Key Accountabilities:
The Electrical Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the execution of electrical activities during the Riser Platform project at the worksite in Sohar, Oman and Qatar. Key responsibilities include:
- Safety: Complete required safety training and demonstrate responsible safety behavior. Ensure adherence to local, international, and company safety standards. Engage in unsafe activities, creating positive or negative observation cards. Attend Toolbox Meetings (TBM) and ensure work is carried out safely.
- Quality: Ensure understanding of company standards and project specifications. Collaborate with the construction team to meet Quality KPIs.
- Drawings/Procedures: Review electrical drawings (AFC, shop drawings, as-built, etc.) and execution procedures. Ensure all drawings and procedures are ready for the fabrication and installation of electrical supports and equipment.
- Materials & Storage: Monitor delivery of EIT materials to the worksite and ensure proper storage in compliance with project specifications and vendor recommendations.
- Fabrication: Oversee fabrication activities, ensuring that all tasks comply with approved procedures, drawings, and specifications. Gather and report daily manpower data to the EIT Superintendent.
- Pre-Commissioning: Understand pre-commissioning specifications and lead EIT pre-commissioning activities. Ensure punch list close-outs align with the baseline schedule.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with the construction team and conduct daily tool box talks to prioritize activities.
Job Dimensions:
The project involves various EPCIC contractors and spans across six years, including multiple offshore facilities.
Key components of the project include:
- EPCIC 9 (SURF): Pipeline, risers, and composite cable installation between Wellhead Platforms and Riser Platform.
- EPCIC 11 (WHP): Installation of wellhead platforms, jackets, and topsides.
- EPCIC 12 (RP & Brownfield): Riser platform topside and jacket, including integration with existing facilities.
- EPCIC 13 (CPP): Central process platform, living quarters, flare tripod, and interconnecting bridges.
The project combines Greenfield and Brownfield operations, with significant challenges in integrating new platforms with existing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and comply with company safety standards and procedures.
- Carry out work in line with company policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ensure timely availability of drawings, specifications, job instructions, and materials.
- Review and approve method statements from contractors.
- Ensure that E&I materials and certifications meet project requirements.
- Provide technical advice for engineering issues or construction changes.
- Monitor contractor progress and report deviations from the construction schedule.
- Ensure contractors' labor resources align with approved plans.
- Ensure all personnel are adequately trained and experienced to perform their tasks safely.
- Identify and follow up on non-conformances related to fabrication.
- Verify the correctness of as-built drawings and manage project documentation.
- Coordinate with pre-commissioning and commissioning teams.
- Ensure E&I tasks are properly registered in the ICAPS system.
- Implement the Permit to Work system correctly.
Context and Work Environment:
- The role will be based in both Qatar and Oman for the duration of the project.
- The working environment is a desert climate with challenging schedules.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or construction.
- Ex (ATEX, EEHA) certification.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 15 years in offshore piping fabrication for oil and gas projects, with a minimum of 3 years in fixed platforms (topside and/or jacket).
Job-Specific Skills:
- Ability to undertake technical missions worldwide.
- Familiarity with NOC General Specifications and relevant codes.
- Ex (ATEX, EEHA) experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
