Electrical Technician

TITLE
Electrical Technician

PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To build and install equipment for the renewables market. Electrical fit out and cable fitting.

REPORTING TO:

Electrical Shopfloor Manager

HOURS OF ROLE:

37 hours (4-day week. Mon -Thurs or Tues – Fri)
Wallyford, East Lothian

DUTIES:

·       Assembling of electrical cabinets and panels
·       ATEX installations under compex regulations.
·       Supporting installation and commissioning the system in the factory and onsite
·       Working safely with high voltage and current AC and DC equipment
·       Focus on housekeeping of all work areas
·       Ensure that the H&S (Health & Safety), quality, and environment al procedures are followed
·       Reporting to Electrical Shopfloor Manager of any incidents, spillages etc that occur
·       Supporting the customer services team

MAIN DELIVERABLES IN ROLE:

·       Assembly/testing of electrical parts of hydrogen equipment
·       Keeping a safe and clean workspace
·       Working to tight deadlines

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:


ESSENTIAL:

·       Time served Electrical apprenticeship
·       Electrical fitting experience
·       Ability to read technical drawings
·       Materials and manufacturing knowledge
·       Supportive Team worker
·       Good timekeeping
·       Problem solving on the job
·       Positive can-do work ethic
 
 
 
DESIRABLE:
·       Working towards an Electrical Engineering degree or Diploma
·       IOSH Trained
·       Environmental awareness
·       Able to read P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagram) schematics
·       Experience with stock control systems
·       Has knowledge of control systems PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller) etc.
·       Has experience of working with power management systems.
·       18th Edition
·       COMPEX knowledge
·       ATEX/DSEAR Awareness
