Connect2Luton are excited to recruit an Electrician on behalf of Luton Borough Council.

\n

Main purpose of position:

\n

Working with broad guidance to complete a comprehensive range of electrical repairs and refurbishments within contract conditions, timescales and cots.

\n

You will be responsible to:

\n\n\n\n\n

·To carry out a comprehensive range of electrical repairs across various sectors including domestic property, high rise, industrial units etc under guidance from a senior electrician or supervisor. Progress towards unsupervised lone working to self-diagnose repairs or maintenance activity, to effect appropriate repair comply with risk assessments and method statements.

\n

·Undertake tasks by appointment, and via the use of job ticket or hand held technology. Correctly book the appropriate schedule of rate references, variations completion dates and any follow up work required.

\n

·Appropriately use a range of technology-based equipment including testing meters and hand held PDAs.

\n

·Carry appropriate materials as impress van stock, ensure outgoing stock is recorded, and logged on hand held technology.

\n

·Ensure stocks are replenished in line with approved procedure. Make recommendations on stock position, type, frequency of use and performance, to ensure accurate update of back-office systems. Re-stock in timely fashion to ensure continued service delivery.

\n

·Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.

\n

·To attend all training sessions and team meetings.

Skills and Experience:

\n

    \n
  • Experience of a range of electrical and related skills associated with day-to-day maintenance and refurbishment project work
  • \n

  • Experience could have been gained in educational context
  • \n

  • Able to work with limited supervision
  • \n

  • Able to deal politely and tactfully with a range of people including clients, tenants, manager and supervisors
  • \n

  • Some knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in relation to building works
  • \n

  • Advanced electrical apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3
  • \n

  • Electrical City & Guilds qualification or equivalent apprenticeship NVQ Level 2
  • \n

  • 17th Edition Upgrade (IEE Regulations)
  • \n

  • Able to travel to and between sites with related equipment. (Frequency - daily)
  • \n
