About the Role:
The Electrician plays a critical role in maintaining the electrical systems and machinery within our food processing operations. This position ensures that all equipment is running efficiently and safely, contributing to minimizing downtime and supporting production goals. The Electrician will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and assist in repairs to ensure that all operations are aligned with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily setup of filling lines, including can code printers, Taptone X-Ray Fill Detection System, and checkweighers, ensuring all systems are operational.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance (PM) on electrical systems following safety protocols like lock-out/tag-out.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing downtime and maintaining production flow.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with safety, quality, and food safety standards, including OSHA and food safety regulations (HACCP & SQF).
  • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, including preventive and corrective work orders, and submit them to the Maintenance Supervisor for review.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to identify and address equipment deficiencies.
  • Support electrical maintenance issues as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
  • Adhere to all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety policies to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow established procedures, including ensuring all guards and safety devices are in place and operational after performing maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification(s) in electrical systems is required.
  • Experience: Prior experience in an industrial maintenance environment, particularly in food processing facilities, is strongly .
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and automated machinery.
    • Strong understanding of electrical test instruments, PLCs, and industrial controls.
    • Knowledge of safety protocols, including OSHA standards, and experience in working with food safety policies such as SQF, HACCP, and GMPs.
    • Ability to follow preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Maximo for tracking work orders.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • Compensation/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience.

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with flexibility to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
