Location: Edinburgh, EH16 4SA, The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

Pay: £22 PAYE or £29.73 Umbrella

Job Type: Temporary - 6 Months



Job Overview:

Seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician with HV-LV experience to join the maintenance team working in The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Reporting directly to the Electrical Supervisor, you will ensure the safe and continuous operation of mechanical and electrical engineering services and building plant.



* Perform electrical maintenance on assets as part of a flexible maintenance team, including specialist subcontractors.



* Execute tasks from Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules or reactive work orders.



* Diagnose faults, source parts, and manage tasks to completion.



* Ensure adherence to best working practices and relevant safety standards.



* Assist with managing backlog works and specialist projects as needed.



* Work within the scope of Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (HTM's) and other compliance regulations.



* Act as an Authorised Person in Electrical Systems (HV/LV) with required certifications.



* Participate in fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance of non-medical equipment and plant.



* Complete reports, risk assessments, and task sheets in compliance with Equans guidelines.



* Collaborate with M&E teams on various tasks beyond electrical systems.



* Ensure compliance with Statutory Regulations, CDM, and Health & Safety standards.



Qualifications/Experience Required:



* HV-LV Electrical Experience



* Must be trained and certified as an Authorised Person in Electrical Systems (Low/High Voltage).



* Disclosure Scotland clearance (or ability to obtain).



* Demonstrated awareness of best practices in electrical maintenance and safety.



* Ability to perform complex fault diagnostics under supervision.



* Strong collaboration and communication skills.



* Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.



Desirable Skills:



* Previous experience in healthcare settings (SHTM compliance).



* Familiarity with fire safety and building systems
