Experienced Journeyman Electrician Position Overview:
JTM Electrical & Technology, a leading provider of electrical services for commercial and industrial clients, is seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team in East Dundee, IL. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards and contributing to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical tasks with or without general supervision
- Read blueprints, terminate cables, install, and troubleshoot control wiring from drawings
- Perform rough-in work efficiently and accurately
- Wire and conduit sizing, switchgear installation, and termination
- Underground layout and rough-in work
- Understand and practice safe work procedures
- Collaborate with supervisors, superintendents, and other team members
Qualifications:
- Current Driver's License and reliable transportation
- High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent training
- 6 years of previous electrical experience
- Ability to positively identify wire colors and read/draw prints and schematics
- Experience bending conduit by hand with hand benders
- Proficient in using power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches
- Able to operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions
- Knowledge of equipment operation, such as trenchers, scissor lifts, and lift trucks
- Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions
- Operate mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas-powered)
Essential Job Functions:
- Work in all elements and conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Arrive at the job site 15 minutes prior to start time, ready to work
- Utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns)
- Carry required personal tools at all times (tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs.)
- Work from various ladders (step ladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders, and extension ladders)
- Perform work at various heights, from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas
- Work in restricted areas (switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, and crawl spaces)
- Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, no-cut gloves, and steel-toe boots at all times), respirator when required
- Perform repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
- Work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required, and night shifts
Physical Functions:
- Bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Lift 51 pounds
- Move constantly on feet
- Climb ladders (all types)
- Complete overhead work for full-day assignments
- Access all levels of the building and work areas
- Possess good vision (normal or corrected)

Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00am - 2:00pm with paid lunches (schedule can slightly variable depending on workload)
Supplemental Pay:
- Sign on Bonus: $1500 after 365 days of employmentÂ
