In support of all company operations and facilities, the Journeyman Electrician repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and equipment.Qualified individuals might receive a security clearance supporting the military and Government.

NBCP Communications Systems, a leading provider of AV integration services in the country, is looking for qualified candidates for the position of AV Installation Technician, Lead Tech and Field Service Techs. This position is full time. IF you enjoy leading others and have the experience to back it up, then we want you in our team. Out-of-state travel is expected so if you have the freedom to visit exciting places for extended periods this is the place for you.

DUTIES:

• Identify materials and quantities needed for new high voltage circuits and cabling in support of AV systems.

• Pulls CAT, , fiber and any other cabling necessary through commercial ceilings, walls and floors.

• Participates in the planning of new or modified electrical, structured cabling or audio visual installations.

• Inspects circuits and wiring for specified shielding, grounding and repairs or rewires system according to building codes and safety regulations.

• May act as team leader. Coordinates team activities such as work orders to ensure all work is completed.

• Reads blueprints to assist in working with electrical systems.

• Must be thoroughly proficient in the use of tools for the electrician trade, including meg-ohm meter, volt-ohm meter, amp and volt recorders, PM meters, am probe, voltage meter, etc.

• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade, including working with high voltage.

• Knows medium level construction such as drywall repair, bending conduit, drop ceiling repair.

• Perform other work as required

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• Requires at least 1 year of on-the-job training/experience.

• Journeyman Electrician License in the State of Texas ( HIGHLY ).

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.

• Current or retired military member (HIGHLY )

• Knowledge of electrical installation, repair, and maintenance techniques, practices, and procedures.

• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.

• Ability to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public.

• Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making

You MUST have a clean background.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience:

• High School or GED education

• 1-2 years Commercial Experience

• MUST have a CLEAR Criminal Record

Physical Requirements:

• Physical requirements include frequent lifting/carrying of up to 30 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate tools and equipment of the electrical trade. Subject to climbing, balancing, walking, reaching, sitting, standing, bending and stooping to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are inside and outside with occasional exposure to temperature variations, damp/wet surfaces, hazardous materials, and high noise areas.
