Job Title: Electrician\n\nLocation: Portsmouth \n\nSalary: £34,640. (Shift allowance of 33% may be applicable)\n\nWho we are: \n\nWorking alongside 40 electrical fitters & 30 apprentices within a supportive and dynamic team. You will be providing support to the Royal Navy Warship fleet through upgrades, maintenance, and support periods.

This could include accruing hours as well as flexibility around start and finish times, ensuring you can balance life at work, on site and life at home.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nReading/Interpreting Electrical Drawings, MDS and Guidance information\n\nCarrying out Electrical Testing on 12v, 24v, 110v, 240v & 440v systems\n\nExecuting various crimping techniques and soldering\n\nCarrying out electrical installation, maintenance, and defect rectification in accordance with the project schedules to meet customer quality expectations\n\nInstallation, testing and maintenance of communications equipment such as VHF radios, Intercom, GPS, and AIS\n\nFault diagnosis and defect rectification\n\nCarrying out detailed inspections and be fully conversant in the use of all measuring equipment’s\n\nUsing of calibrating measurement equipment\n\nYour skills and experiences:\n\nCompleted an appropriate trade apprenticeship or naval equivalent qualification\n\nUnderstanding of electrical installation drawings\n\nClear understanding of SHE Risks Awareness\n\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes\n\nMust be comfortable working in confined spaces and or at height\n\nSafety certification i.e., SHE Induction, COSHH Awareness, working at height etc\n\nBackground in Marine, Offshore, Construction or Manufacturing environment highly desirable\n\nWhat we offer:\n\nAs well as a competitive salary of £34,640.
