Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented electronic assembly technician with soldering expertise and a strong understanding of electronic boards and IPC standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic devices and systems. A certification or knowledge of IPC standards will be highly valued in this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform electronic assembly tasks such as PCB (Printed Circuit Board) component soldering, through-hole and surface-mount technology (SMT), and wire harnessing.
2. Follow detailed assembly instructions, diagrams, and technical documentation to ensure accurate and efficient assembly of electronic components.
3. Inspect and test assembled systems to identify and troubleshoot any faults or defects.
4. Utilize various hand tools, precision instruments, and electronic testing equipment to conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with IPC standards.
5. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and handling of electronic components and equipment.
6. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and productivity.
7. Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment while handling soldering irons, chemicals, and other potentially hazardous materials.
8. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new assembly techniques, and IPC standards to continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills.
9. Document assembly processes, test results, and any modifications made during the assembly, assisting in the creation of assembly manuals and work instructions.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in electronics or related fields is a plus.
2. Proven experience in electronic assembly with soldering expertise, particularly in PCB assembly using through-hole and SMT technology.
3. Strong knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610), or certification (e.g., IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist).
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, assembly drawings, and schematics.
5. Familiarity with electronic components, test equipment, and tools commonly used in electronic assembly.
6. Skilled in troubleshooting electronic systems and identifying faults or defects.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under time constraints.
8. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
9. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide regular progress updates.
10. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and precision.
