Electronics TechnicianJob Description Luna Innovations is now hiring a full-time technician at its Blacksburg, VA location. This position involves building and testing fiber optic devices that enable life-enhancing technologies around the globe. No travel is required for this position.Roles and Responsibilities:Produce mechanical, electrical, and fiber optic assemblies on a manufacturing lineConduct testing of fiber optic assembliesClosely follow documented assembly and test processesConduct basic troubleshooting of manufacturing issuesSupport experiments lead by manufacturing/test engineerPerform preventive maintenance and calibration per provided proceduresDocument test results using paper and electronic means (Word, Excel)Work with engineering to improve assembly and manufacturing methodsFollows all enterprise, safety and production procedures and regulationsSkill/Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredAA or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school a plusPrevious manufacturing experience and/or document control systems a plusProficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)Previous experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or similar QMS preferredHands-on technician with the proven ability to work well in a team environmentCommunication and documentation skillsAttention to detail with focus on qualitySoldering experience a plusFiber optic experience preferredLuna is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer -Minorities/ Females/ Veterans/ Individuals with disabilities/Sexual orientation/Gender Identity.
