Embedded Software Engineer, Hybrid

Job Description

You will need to go onsite to Basildon at least once a week, though you are welcome to go onsite more.

Salary : up to £65,000 basic + benefits

Role Description

In this role, you will be utilising your Embedded C++ experience running on Linux platform (Linux experience is not essential) to help deliver the embedded SW element of a major new product that excels in reliability and can operate in challenging environments. Your immediate team is around 10-heads (SW) plus an additional 30 mixed discipline who are further supported by the wider engineering functions based throughout Europe and Asia.

Essential Knowledge:

•   Embedded C/C++ (C++ Preferable)
•   Object Orientated Design and Structured Analysis and Design
•   Programming languages and libraries
•   Unit and system test methods
•   Change and Configuration Management tools
•   Understanding of schematics and PCB layouts
•   Interpretation/understanding of component datasheets

Desirable Knowledge:

• Linux experience  
• Experience of communications protocols
•  Safety critical software principles
