Energy Storage Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our BESS team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with specific experience in the design, development, and deployment of battery energy storage systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance BESS solutions that meet industry standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical systems for BESS projects, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts. Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations for BESS installations. Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and software developers to integrate BESS with renewable energy sources and grid systems. Perform detailed electrical calculations, including load flow, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including IEEE, NEC, and UL requirements. Develop and review technical specifications, design documents, and test plans for BESS components and systems. Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of BESS installations to ensure optimal performance and safety. Provide technical support and training to clients, field engineers, and other stakeholders. Stay updated with advancements in BESS technology, energy storage solutions, and industry best practices. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. In-depth knowledge of ESS technology, including in particular Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), developments and key players Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools. Strong understanding of power systems, energy storage technologies, and grid integration. Experience with control systems, SCADA, and PLC programming is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
