Engineer, Process

Job description: JOB PURPOSE  • Supervises and coordinates all process engineering activities, ensuring that process engineering support, information and advice are provided to all plant operation units aimed at resolving process problems or developing improvements in plant productivity, reliability, safety and product quality.  • Explore and evaluate new business opportunities. Provide coaching and mentoring of process engineers. Take the responsibility of development plan of senior and contact engineers. Deliver training sessions to contact engineers. Provide adequate plant support- contact engineers.    JOB KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  1- SHE ( Safety, Health and Environment): • Lead class-A plant outages, losses incidents. • Evaluate and propose mitigation, closure of high risk RAI's • Support achieving company target rate. Report near misses and participate in incident investigations.  2- Plant Technical Support: • Act as technical studies and recommendations gatekeeper. • Follow up on plant manufacturing status on a continuing basis. Includes attending daily meetings in one or more of the main operating areas, and following up on problems in the area such as problems related to quality, safety, Operational efficiency, reliability and productivity of equipment. Allocates process engineers to required tasks, provides technical advices and reviews and approves recommended corrective actions and solutions. 3- Plant Reliability, Efficiently and Capacity Improvements: • Plant improvement team committee member. • Develop plant improvement plans and Strategies. • Endorse best practices. • Identify and follow up and lead on short/long-term projects such as plant debottlenecking projects and plant expansion studies. Includes assigning engineers to projects, providing technical assistance and guidance, determining need for internal or external engineering support, following up the engineer concerned on steps for designing and developing project and preparing start-up and operating procedures planning the timing of the run.  4- Production Planning and Developments: • Supervises the development of short and medium term projects such as plant modification and improvement programs involving cost reduction and quality improvement. Includes reviewing current status and problems with process engineer concerned or arranging more formal staff meetings for progress review, discussing problems, planning for further action and following up with higher level staff as necessary.  5- Human Resource:  • Supervise and monitor the staff-training program. • Support preparation, coordination, implementation and monitoring of manufacturing objectives and activities. • Support achieving manufacturing targets of quality, quantity, cost, reliability, safety and environment control through effective process optimization and trouble shooting of problems. • Identify business trends, explore new business opportunities and review technical / commercial agreements and advice programs / plans for research and development, product development and process improvement programs. • Undertake and participate in technology improvement programs. • Coordinate with process licensors for various programs. • Overall responsibility of process engineering functions.   MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS  •  BS. Degree in Chemical Engineering  •  Minimum of 10 Year's Progressive experience in mix feed (gas/liquied) olefin plant.      COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQIREMENTS   • Basic knowledge of safety rules and process safety best practices. • Ability to perform engineering calculation and dealing with process simulation tools using F • Design Methods and Practices • Process Controls and Protective System Design • Project and process Economics • Reliability Engineering (STRP Methodologies) • Identify, diagnose, Troubleshoot process problems • Identify process capability Improvement opportunities. • Monitor plant performance and identify gaps. • Strong Technical background
