Engineer Systems Safety
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 2+ years of experience in aerospace systems engineering Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) 3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with engineering/scientific principles with particular emphasis on the aeronautical, mechanical, and electrical system disciplines Experience with aircraft systems, components, and functions (e.g., Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels, etc.) or Systems Integration Experience with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 25.1309 Experience with Recommended Practices ARP4754 (ARP) 4761 Experience with Continued Operation Safety Process (COSP) and reporting criteria Experience gathering, manipulating, and analyzing large amounts of data Experience in assessing and documenting analysis to show compliance Excellent verbal and written communication skills Typical Education/Experience: Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
