  • Incorporate academic knowledge into hands-on work and willingness to learn new skills
  • Communicate effectively and use logical judgments when dealing with changes and meeting program deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have a basic understanding of work to be performed
  • Interns will work 15 – 25 hours per week; summer interns will about 40 hours
  • Must be willing to accept direction from, and interact professionally with supervisor and co-workers
  • Must work with integrity and follow assigned tasks through to completion
  • Assist with department administrative duties as necessary to learn about the work being performed, and to contribute to completion of department workload
  • Familiarization with engineering specific software such as CAD desired for some positions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training (both required and desired):

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Current enrollment or recent graduate of an engineering program; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science major

Experience:

    • 0+ years of professional experience in the required task area

Security:

    • Must be a US
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
