Engineering and Controls Technician

The Engineering and Controls Technician performs a variety of duties to support engineering projects through the planning, design, and commissioning of automated control systems. This work is completed in a variety of settings, including at MBI Automation and on the floor at customer facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Support project installs both onsite and at customer facilities.

· Assist with wiring electrical panels per print.

· Fabricate mechanical details as needed for projects.

· Assemble mechanical components on projects.

· Assist in other controls related projects as needed.

· Maintain shop space by maintaining stock of tools and parts; and improving workflow as needed.

· Maintenance and repair of company equipment; including shop truck and jobsite trailer.

· Assist in shipping and receiving by utilizing heavy equipment to load and unload shipments.

· Assist in facility projects and ongoing maintenance.

· Assist controls engineers with commissioning and debug of equipment.

· Design, Program and Install small projects.

· Observe and follow customer design specifications and criteria.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Candidates will possess a Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.

· Three or more years prior related experience in the automation industry.

· Must possess a strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skill set.

· Robotic experience with Fanuc, ABB or Denso is a plus but not required.

· Fabrication experience (welding, milling, machine building, etc.) is a plus but not required.

· Ability to electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Willingness to adapt to last-minute requests from customers.

· Must have clean driving record and reliable transportation.
