Job Description Manufacturing Engineering Management: Manage and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and products to ensure efficiency and quality. Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Maintenance Coordination and Facilities Management: Coordinate and oversee both internal and external maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. Manage facilities maintenance, including planning and executing upgrades, inspections, and repairs to support production operations. New Product Introduction (NPI) and Process Improvement: Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects at various sites, ensuring smooth integration of new products into manufacturing processes. Drive the development and implementation of new production processes and technologies to improve efficiency and meet quality standards. Risk Management and Compliance: Conduct and ensure regular risk assessments of manufacturing processes, applying methodologies such as PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing). Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards in all manufacturing operations. Documentation and Technical Support: Maintain and update engineering documentation, including manufacturing procedures, drawings, and specifications. Provide technical support and guidance to production engineering teams, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Team Leadership and Development: Coach, mentor, and develop production engineering teams to enhance their capabilities and performance. Implement talent management and succession planning strategies to ensure the continuity of skilled personnel. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as R&D, Operations, Quality, and Procurement to align manufacturing processes with overall business objectives. Manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and coordination of activities. Continuous Improvement and Cost Management: Drive cost reduction initiatives within manufacturing operations while maintaining product quality and supply chain integrity. Monitor key performance metrics such as production efficiency, first-pass yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to achieve operational excellence. Key Metrics Minimal downtime for maintenance related activities Reduction of non-conforming costs associated to scrap and product rework Production efficiency Production costs First Pass Yield and Overall Equipment Effectiveness Management to budget The Successful Applicant Ideal candidate Minimum 6 years' relevant experience working in a facilities-based role inside a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience leading teams through operational transformation projects utilising lean manufacturing principles, (Kaizan, lean, Six Sigma, 6S). Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Experience in CAD (AutoCad preferred). Strong knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes. Experience with management & control tools Jira & TFS. Ability to work in a team and/or individually. Good written and oral communication skills.
