Tesla's Energy Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage New Product Introduction (NPI) build planning during Engineering phases for new hardware design programs across Energy: Residential and Industrial Storage, and DC and AC Charging. This is a cross-functional role that requires coordination between many distinct groups within and outside of Tesla.
You will interface with engineering program management, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, compliance, system test, reliability, supply chain and operations to execute and track builds for various programs. Prioritize, orchestrate and arrange builds and any reworks needed, and distribute hardware to the various validation teams.
You will be immersed in early NPI design phases and work closely with EPMs and other stakeholders on sample allocation and ensure the parts purchasing aligns with the sample allocation plan. You will also build and leverage strong working relationships with cross-functional partners in engineering and other teams, to ensure optimal sequencing of builds taking into account material arrival and validation priorities. You will then supervise the builds either at a Tesla facility or at a contract manufacturer. You would create tickets to record build learnings and send out daily pass-downs on builds. For builds that happen at a contract manufacturer, you would facilitate the distribution of validation samples as well as arrange and monitor any reworks to address build or validation learnings. This role will report to the Energy Engineering product development team and be based out of Palo Alto, California.
You will be based out of the Bay Area (Palo Alto) with some travel needs to our Gigafactory facilities in either Reno, Nevada; and various East Bay Area locations as our program needs dictate.
