Location:  Throughout North Carolina

Compensation:  $100,000 - $130,000

Job Description:

Stimmel Associates, a land planning, site engineering, and landscape architecture company with offices in Winston-Salem and Charlotte, NC, is searching for a Sr. Civil Engineer in the greater Charlotte, NC area. This position will lead the site engineering department in designing various land development projects within sectors such as commercial, industrial, healthcare, senior living, residential, and higher education.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead and manage the Charlotte engineering department.
  • Oversee all phases of land development projects from conception through completion.
  • Manage workflow and tasks on the development of construction drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, and construction services.
  • Ensure projects meet technical specifications, budgets, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement best practices, innovative solutions, and quality control measures.
  • Coordinate with cross-discipline teams throughout the site design process.
  • Develop and foster repeat work from clients.
  • Support business development efforts.
  • Perform administrative duties such as staff scheduling, proposal writing, billings, etc.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record on projects.
  • Regional travel is expected.

 

What You Need for This Position:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Land Development design.
  • Direct experience within the Charlotte/Mecklenburg NC market is .
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • PE License is required.
  • Excellent organization, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage clients, projects, staff, and work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydrology Studio, and experience with Newforma and EPANet 2.2 is .
