Engineering Director (English speaking)

Job Description ACG_2192_JOB Our client, a leading fintech company, is looking for a qualified candidate to join their firm: 1. Project Management: Oversee team building activities to ensure the successful completion of iterative projects. Make sure the right procedures and processes are followed, and that projects are delivered on schedule. Maintain open channels of communication about any obstacles or risks to on-time delivery while keeping an eye on, assessing, and assuring projects and tasks for delivery commitments. To convert requirements into functional specifications, refine them. Work together with stakeholders to gather and record project requirements, create user stories, create estimates, and schedule delivery. Establish and implement clear procedures and guidelines to guarantee excellence in all assignments and records. 2. Management of Teams and Departments: Management purview: over thirty talented engineers Oversee and direct several engineering teams and departments, making sure that everyone works together and coordinates well. Assign the teams specific goals and objectives and offer direction and assistance in achieving them. Encourage the engineering organization to have an outstanding, innovative, and continuous improvement culture. 3. Development of Engineering: To create high-performing teams, find, train, and retain outstanding engineering talent. As a coach, you may assist team members develop and progress in their professions. Implement activities and training programs to improve the engineering team's technical proficiency. Create a technical engineering career plan and vision that are in line with business requirements. 4. Execution of Strategy: Align engineering projects with the organization's overarching strategic objectives. Create and implement engineering methods to promote product innovation and guarantee project completion. Work together with cross-functional teams to make sure engineering projects are carried out without a hitch. 5. Involvement of Stakeholders: Work together to understand the needs of internal stakeholders, including product managers and business executives, and then coordinate engineering efforts with those needs. Effectively communicate with stakeholders to give them information on the opportunities, hazards, and status of the project. Continue to communicate with stakeholders, aggressively seeking out and obtaining new possibilities that complement the development organization's expansion and accomplishments. Encourage a proactive attitude within the company by successfully cultivating the elimination of a passive outsourcing culture. 6. Superior Operational Performance Use and enhance engineering techniques and procedures to maximize output and efficiency. Improve the technical interview procedure and the Engineering Onboarding programs to increase the engineering experiences. Encourage the engineering group to implement industry standards and best practices. Assess engineering projects' progress to make sure they are completed efficiently and on schedule. Requirements Experience in software engineering, information systems, or information technology English proficiency and at least ten years of project or product development management experience four or more years of experience managing stakeholders and people expertise managing a direct or indirect engineering team with more than 20 people Exhibits the capacity to adjust to significant, intricate, and regular modifications, guaranteeing that the engineering organization is able to efficiently meet changing market needs. Good to have: Experience holding a comparable position in an IT company, such as CTO, VP of Engineering, Head of Delivery, or Department Manager possessing a professional management certification, such as PMP, PgMP, CSM, or PMI-ACP Managing or building B2B application experience Being bilingual (N1/N2) in Japanese is a huge bonus. Proficient in Japanese (N2 level or above). Experience managing teams of 10 or more members. 4+ years of programming experience. Knowledge and experience in software development processes and project management. Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Trello. Knowledge and experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. Ability to lead, manage, and develop team members. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
