Engineering Group Manager, Signalling/Interlocking

Objectives Lead a team of Engineers, ensuring quality target and reproducible performances. Staff the team and follow-up project strategy definition and task execution, delivering as per QCD commitments. Identify, generalize and stabilize best practices. Lead continuous team improvement, plan trainings and coach the team, nurture skill growth and capitalization. Stand as reference in your domain, for both your team and your peers. Deliver solutions for integrating tangible performance metrics, improving process models and data credibility in the progression. As a Group Manager, you will interact with all team members, so your communication as well as your ability to motivate the team should be excellent. Ultimately, you should lead by being recognized as a domain authority, driven to achievement. Key Accountabilities Define, get agreement and implement department guidelines (team profile, abilities, growth plans, discipline evolutions in terms of technology, competitiveness, etc.) Develop and maintain Métier / domain competences, coaching the team and growing Interlocking/Signalling Engineering experts Set clear team goals, delegate tasks and set deadlines Provide support to team to project execution Promote Alstom values Prepare and host management reviews. Define and govern own group’s strategy with stakeholders. Develop golden rules for effective workshare by métier. Continuously motivate, encourage, evaluate and recognize, train and develop resources, in cooperation with HR, as per approved performance evaluation process and targets Deploy Global Interlocking/Signalling Engineering Processes, Methods and Tools in the team, providing feedback for Process reviews Collect REX from execution and innovation opportunities to feed Reference Library where applicable and share outcomes at department level Estimate / Validate activities quotations for tenders and projects Manage adequacy between estimated workload and capacity, considering subcontracting & business strategies, report status and issues to department head Commit in Project/Tender QCD related to its Interlocking Engineering Key job authorities and dimensions Staffing (hiring management, recruitment process) Budget (work-packages and capex) Department size can be assumed to range between 10-15 people Performance management KPI 1: Staffing: Capacity versus workload, analysis and action plan, in line with budget targets and projects needs. KPI 2: Métiers KPI KPI 3: Team maturity level and versatility Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or scientific subjects. Master's degree desirable. English, full proficient use P. Eng certification preferred Experience Engineering and processes background Experience in project execution and management Hands-on experience in Interlocking/Signalling Engineering Experience and understanding in project estimating Comprehensive understanding of governance models and balanced scorecards in a technical environment.
