Job Summary: In this role, you will manage a project’s process safety discipline activities and its assigned process safety personnel to deliver the contractual scope of various process safety deliverables and tasks. Your team will execute the process safety engineering plan to support the FEED/EPC scope including design development, ensuring the monitoring of safety, quality, cost, and performance and that all contractual duties and obligations are met. Major Responsibilities: Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates process safety work for a global business unit delivering FEED and EPC projects in Energy, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Metal & Mining Industry. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include solving complex risk and safety design issues. Ability to support multiple projects as a subject matter expert. Review and provide design recommendations for new projects and proposed facility modifications to ensure conformance with process safety and loss prevention codes, standards and procedures Assists in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluations. Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals. Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders. Reviews and checks work of sub-ordinate engineers. Contributed the creation of a work environment that fosters open-ness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Mechanical/Chemical Engineer with 18+ years’ relevant experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering of LNG, Petrochemicals, refinery, buildings, clean rooms, metro, airports, etc. Candidate should have in-depth experience in following process safety activities: Design of fire protection system including fire water demand, P&IDs, layouts, data sheets, etc. Preparation of fireproofing schedule and diagrams. Preparation of fire & gas detection layouts and cause & effect charts Analysis of fire water network in Pipenet Preparation of Hazardous area classification schedule Preparation of Escape route/safety sign layouts Safety studies like HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, Consequence modeling, fire modeling, CFD analysis, etc. Working knowledge of various International codes and standards including NFPA, IBC, IFC. Supervision of small team of process safety engineers. Education and Experience Requirements: Candidate should have written and presented technical papers with a proven track record of having executed process safety work in a leadership role on large projects. Professional membership, being on code committees and having co-authored industry codes and standards will be an added advantage. Working experience of software’s like PHAST, CANARY, PHAPro, ExSILentia, Pipenet, etc. Understanding of engineering planning and control.Required: A university or college course degree from an accredited university in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering 18+ years of relevant industry experience. Excellent technical and managerial skills, with both verbal and written communication skills. Advanced degree (MTech or PhD) in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering. Ambitious, energetic, self-motivated, self-managed, team player, and results-oriented. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Energetic and positive attitude working with multiple clients on a wide variety of projects.
